Left 4 Dead Review

First, the darkness of this game mixed in with erie quitenes at times really make you nervous. So it has the total feel as if you were in the movie 28 days later. So the mood is right what next?? Well I only play on expert and have about 50 achievements done on expert. Why expert? Well I dont find it that much fun not on expert because of a few things:

1. Anything less than expert requires less team organization and teamwork.
2. Harder the better, means you cant get sloppy in the game.

The pros to game:
1. Game requires a lot of teamwork even if you are pro at the game. Even pros make mistakes that still need the aid of the teamates.
2. Graphics are good. One of the few horror games that still give me a scare.
3. Very replayable. Different team means you need to get used to how you play.
4. What few maps there are, are well done. The maps in my opinion in terms of difficulty from easist to hardest to finish. Mercy, Dead Air, Death Toll, Blood Harvest, Crash Course. I know Crash course is only 2 maps, but the finale on expert is pretty tough without great teamwork. You can easily have 11+ restarts with a poor team. It's the only map where you need at last one other elite team player, all the rest including Harvest you can do on your own if you are an elite player. Mainly in crash course, you need to re-start the generator which means for about 10 seconds you are a sitting duck.

Cons:
1. Needs more maps. There are 5 but I say it needs more like 10. There are add-ons but they just arent as fun as the originals.
2. Bots in the group need way better AI. The bots are so stupid. You are all cornered up to fight a horde but the bot is standing in the way like an idiot. One time the bot took some damage during a horde and then started healing while the door was half way shut because he was blocking it from closing. Meanwhile the horde is beating him and wasting a kit. Then you cant fire because he is blocking the door way.
3. Maps are a little glitchy; you can sit in certain areas and take advantage of the map glitches so that the hordes dont arrive as well as the specials. Ie. the rock in Death Toll.
4. Ahh the hated Griefers. This class of person comes in and disrupts the game play by being stupid or kills your team because of friendly fire. Hence giving people grief. In short, they are game ruiners. You can kick them with a vote but they've found ways to exploit the game and keep coming back in. If the game makers were smart, they would have a stat counter run on them to see the average number of team killings and ban them for good. Griefers dont really bother me because I recognize most of them right off the bat and kill them first and then boot them. In all, they are a sad class of people who probably get picked on in school and then have to do something in a video game to make their already small self esteem higher...pathetic right?

Left 4 Dead Overview

Set in a modern day survival-horror universe, the co-operative gameplay of Left 4 Dead (L4D) casts four "Survivors" in an epic struggle against hordes of swarming zombies and terrifying "Boss Infected" mutants. Developed by Turtle Rock Studios and Valve, creators of the Counter-Strike and Half-Life games, the latest AI technology allows for multiplayer games of one to eight players.

A new and highly virulent strain of the rabies virus emerges and spreads through the human population with frightening speed. The pandemic's victims become grotesquely disfigured widely violent psychopaths, attacking the uninfected on sight. As one of the "lucky" few apparently immune to the sickness, you, unfortunately, are also trapped in a city crawling with thousands of the bloodthirsty Infected. Alone, you're dead. But together with a handful of fellow survivors, you might just fight your way to safety.

Players can play as a Survivor or as one of four types of Boss Infected, each of whom possess a unique mutant ability, such as a 50-foot tongue lasso or a giant belly full of explosive methane gas. The gameplay of L4D is set across four massive campaigns. The zombie population of each mission is choreographed by an AI Director that monitors the human players' actions and creates a unique and dramatic experience for them on the fly.
